Oranmore resident, and acclaimed award-winning cake and sugarcraft artist, Corinna Maguire, of Lovin’ from the Oven, will be holding a very special event as part of the first ever Oranmore Arts Festival. She will be joined over the weekend by fellow confectioner, Tanya Ross from Novel-T Cakes.

Over the course of the festival, in ‘The Glass Room‘ in Brazco, Carraig Lair, Corinna and Tanya will build a specially designed cake from scratch, starting with a basic frame. As the audience observe, they will witness first hand the amount of work, creativity and ingenuity that goes into any of Corinna of Tanya’s creations.

We would encourage people to drop back during the festival to see the progress of their work. On Sunday, when it’s finished they might even let you taste it!!

This event is kindly sponsored by Select Ireland fondant & Vera Miklas Modelling chocolate.

Reflections by Cindy Lund

From 10th May
Maldron Hotel, Oranmore
Free Entry
This work is a response to the landscape and history of Cindy’s homeland in South County Galway. Her paintings capture the essence of a moment or place in an intuitive way. Textures and colour inspire her. Through the use of mixed media and layering techniques she produces rich and interesting surfaces. The use of metal leaf is inspired by sacred art and is a symbol of light and the spiritual realm.
